أتورفاستاتين: يعمل عن طريق إبطاء إنتاج الكوليسترول في الجسم لتقليل كمية الكوليسترول الذي يتراكم على جدران الشرايين ويمنع تدفق الدم إلى القلب والدماغ وأجزاء أخرى من الجسم.
يستخدم مع النظام الغذائي لخفض مستويات الكوليسترول “الضار” في الدم، لزيادة مستويات الكوليسترول “الجيد”، ولخفض الدهون الثلاثية (نوع من الدهون في الدم).

الإستخدامات:
• ارتفاع مستوى الكوليسترول في الدم و بالتالي تقليل مخاطر الإصابة بالسكتة الدماغية أو النوبات القلبية أو غيرها من مضاعفات القلب لدى الأشخاص المصابين بداء السكري من النوع 2 أو أمراض القلب التاجية و غيرها
كيفية الإستخدام:
البالغون: عادًة مرة واحدة في اليوم مع أو بدون طعام.
يفضل تناول الدواء في نفس الوقت كل يوم.
أو على حسب وصفة الطبيب.
الأعراض الجانبية:
• آلام المفاصل
• انسداد الأنف والتهاب الحلق
• الإسهال
• ألم في الذراعين أو الساقين
التحذيرات:
• فرط الحساسية تجاه المواد الفعالة أو أي من مكونات الدواء.
• الحوامل والمرضعات.
• مرضى الكبد.
• الأطعمة التي تحتوي على نسبة عالية من الدهون والتمارين المنخفضة.
التداخلات الدوائية:
• أدوية أخرى لخفض الكوليسترول
• الأدوية المضادة للفطريات أو المضادات الحيوية
• حبوب منع الحمل
• أدوية القلب
• دواء لعلاج التهاب الكبد سي أو أدوية نقص المناعة
