COVERAM, a combination antihypertensive drug, contains:
Perindopril: It belongs to the family of ACE inhibitors, which prevents the release of angiotensin and thus relaxes blood vessels, lowering blood volume, and lowering blood pressure.
Amlodipine: It belongs to the family of calcium channel blockers. It relaxes the muscles in the walls of blood vessels, which results in the expansion of blood vessels and lowering of blood pressure.
