Lercanidipine hydrochloride is a medication that is indicated in the treatment of mild to moderate hypertension. Lercanidipine is a calcium antagonist of the dihydropyridine group and prevents the transmembrane influx of calcium into cardiac and smooth muscle. Lercanidipine does not influence adversely blood sugar or serum lipid levels.
