Pantoprazole is used as a short-term treatment for esophagitis caused by the backflow of stomach acids and juices, and which include symptoms such as heartburn, hyperacidity and pain in swallowing. This medicine is also used as a long-term treatment, to prevent the recurrence of esophagitis and gastric and duodenal ulcers again.
