يتم استخدامه لعلاج التهابات الأذن الخارجية المعروفة أيضًا باسم أذن السباحين عند الأطفال والبالغين. تعمل قطرة الأذن هذه عن طريق وقف نمو البكتيريا وتقليل تورّم الأذن وعدم الراحة. يعالج هذا الدواء التهابات الأذن البكتيرية فقط. لن يعمل مع أنواع أخرى من التهابات الأذن. يمكن أن يؤدّي الاستخدام غير الضروري أو الإفراط في استخدام أي مضاد حيوي إلى انخفاض فعاليته.
